Immunogen
The epitope recognized by PLA0097 maps to a region between residues 975 and 1025 of human CREB Binding Protein using the numbering given in entry NP_004371.1 (GeneID 1387).
Other Notes
CBP [cAMP response element-binding protein (CREB)-binding protein] interacts with and is a transcriptional co-activator of a multitude of transcriptional regulators that includes CREB. CBP is structurally and functionally similar to p300 but is encoded by an independent gene. CBP coactivation may be achieved through the regulation of chromatin structure due to its ability to catalyze the acetylation of histones. CBP has potential tumor suppressor properties and is important to integrating cell-signaling cues for proliferation, differentiation and apoptosis.
